Grant Permission to Access Gainsight 360 Custom Tab

This article provides step-by-step instructions for how to enable other roles (Directors, Team Managers) besides Admins to access the Gainsight 360, without granting complete access to the Administration tab. This allows you to share the valuable data and insights on the Gainsight 360 with a broader internal audience. The Gainsight 360 can be accessed by navigating to Administration > Analytics > Gainsight 360.

You will grant access to the Gainsight 360 Visualforce page and the newly created custom tab by following the steps mentioned below.

  1. Navigate to the Setup menu in the upper right corner of your screen.

  1. Navigate to App Setup > Create > Tabs.

  1. Click New in the Visualforce Tabs section.

  1. Provide the following information in the Step 1:Enter the Details screen as shown in the following image.

    • Visualforce Page: Gainsight 360 for Customers [JBCXM_Gainsight360]

    • Tab Label: Gainsight recommends using Gainsight360

    • Tab Name: Gainsight recommends using Gainsight360

    • Tab Style: select the Desk option

    • Description: Optional

  1. Click Next.

  2. Choose which profiles to give access to the new tab. If you would prefer to give direct access to that page at the Permission Set level, select Apply one tab visibility to all profiles and choose Tab Hidden in the Step 2. Add to Profiles screen. Later, you need to set the tab access on the permission set.

  1. Click Next.

  2. In the Step 3: Add to Custom Apps screen, select the custom apps for which the new custom tab will be available.

  1. Click Save.

  2. To view the tab, navigate to Setup > App Setup > Tabs >  Visualforce Tabs section.

  1. Click Edit for custom tab to edit the same Visualforce Custom Tab.

  1. Click Save.

  2. Navigate to the Setup menu.

  1. Click Visualforce Page at App Setup > Develop.

  1. Click Security action for Gainsight 360 for Customers as shown in the following image.

  1. Select the profiles to which you want to grant permission to access Gainsight360 tab.

The profiles that you grant permission to access the Gainsight360 tab will be able to see the tab along with other tabs, as highlighted in the following image.

  1. Right click on the Gainsight360 tab option and click Open link in new tab.

Note: If you directly click on the Gainsight360 tab, the new page will open on the same tab.

If you have permission to access and view the information available in Gainsight 360, the following page will be displayed. This page is read-only and cannot be edited or exported.
